Happy New Year!

Well I can't believe it's New Year's Eve again. It does not seem like a year has passed since my New Year's Eve post from last year. There was a lot of turmoil in the world this year and moreso than usual. However, I find myself happy this New Year's Eve and thankful for my blessings.

Even though I am not happy about turning 40 in a few weeks, something really neat happened yesterday - I got carded at the grocery store!!! I was wearing no makeup, and was getting groceries since we were out of everything after being gone for a week to my sisters. I picked up the traditional new years day foods for dinner tomorrow, along with some champagne and Hornsby's Crisp Apple Cider (yum). And when I went to check out, I got carded! I was so happy! The cashiers thought I was 30. I have two new best friends at Harris Teeter!

My sister and I had one of the best Christmases we've had since I can remember. I got the coolest present as the Guitar Hero World Tour is a blast. Meg and I played for hours. We haven't played and hung out that much in a long while. Who ever thought a Play Station 2 that had been sitting around for over a year could yield such treasures! The best part is at the end of a performance and the words "You Rock" pop up. Meg and I went "You Rock Baby" to each other. Then the really funny thing happened as Quincy had been watching (and learning to sing Beat It) ran up and down the hall saying loudly "You Rock Baby". THe 'baby' was pronounced like 'bebe'. After that, Meg and I would finish the song and say "You Rock Bebe". Bebe is now my 'band' name on the game! Jim has created a monster. He finally found a video game I like to play!

Happy New Year! Best wishes for 2009!!!

From experience, forty isn't so bad. You'll have to ask Jay or Todd about 41. Happy New Year!

For me, 38 was worse. Just realizing that 40 was two years away. Really, it's not as bad as the "thought" of turning forty.

If I get carded in a restaurant, I tend to tip pretty big.

I pull out the spandex whenever I play Guitar Hero. Unfortunately, I can not play with anyone else while wearing Spandex. I am over the legal size allowed for spandex. I just like saying that word. Spandex.

Happy New Year Mot. We got a big Star Trek year ahead of us!

Happy new year, Martha! I like playing Rock Band with my kids. "Hungry Like the Wolf" sung at the top of one's lungs is sweet, sweet music.
